Houston’s world-class museum community has been on the upswing for years, and now a new addition has been added to the mix. UNIX Gallery is a contemporary art gallery representing an international group of established and emerging artists.

Located at 4411 Montrose, UNIX made its Texas debut in Houston this past September with its second location. With its flagship location in New York, UNIX brings a special flair to a very diverse cultural community. While visiting the Houston location, you’ll find works by visionary artists that include paintings, sculptures, photography and much more.

UNIX was founded in 2003 by Alex Cesaria and Daniela Mercuri, and it initially specialized in the secondary market in London. Later, the gallery entered the primary contemporary art market with its first American-based gallery in Miami. The gallery soon expanded in 2013 with a second location at West 24th Street in New York City.

Currently on display for the holiday season is the Holiday Group Show, which offers the gallery’s best works for the holiday season, including work from Eugenio Merino’s solo show Will Work For Fast Food. At the exhibition you’ll also find artwork by international artists Peter Anton, Justin Bower, Ingrid Dee Magidson and John Messinger, to name a few.

The Holiday Group show is on display until Jan. 2, 2016. The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more on UNIX Gallery, visit Unixgallery.com.
