It’s been an eventful year for Houston, to say the least. It started off with the return of the Super Bowl, a scorching summer leading to a devastating hurricane and then our home team Astros won the World Series. The city of Houston is a reminder that after the rain definitely comes the sunshine. Although there are still families and businesses recovering from the devastation of Harvey, we couldn’t have gotten this far without the generous amount of donations given to our city from some of fashion’s most notable retailers.

Whimsical and cutting-edge fashion brand Alice + Olivia donated 10 percent of its sales to United Way Houston. Notable handbag and luggage fashion label Coach gave a generous amount of $200,000 to Red Cross and also matched all of its employees’ contributions as well. JC Penney gave over $850,000 worth of donations, supplies and merchandise for hurricane relief. Also among those fashion retailers that donated include Ross Stores, QVC, Urban Outfitters, and many more. So, if you’re in the midst of your holiday shopping, let’s not forget about these brands who were extremely helpful to the Bayou City when we needed it the most. Besides, it’s all about giving back and paying it forward.
