Gilbert Saldivar on Jennifer Lopez
and ‘This Is Me…Now'
In the world of entertainment, Jennifer Lopez is a true superstar who is known as a businesswoman, singer, dancer, producer, and actress. From her days as a Fly Girl on In Living Color to the release of her debut album, On the 6, Lopez has captivated audiences for nearly four decades. And with no signs of slowing down, the talented performer just released her ninth studio album, This Is Me…Now.
This Is Me…Now was released on Feb. 16, and the album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. The album was inspired by Lopez’s rekindled romance with Ben Affleck with themes of love and self-reflection throughout. The lead single from the album is “Can’t Get Enough,” which samples the 1967 song “I’m Still in Love with You” by Alton Ellis.
This Is Me…Now is part of an ambitious three-part project that includes the album itself, a musical film called This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, and a documentary called The Greatest Love Story Never Told. The documentary follows the production process of creating the musical as well as the financial and emotional challenges Lopez faced throughout the process. Both the musical and documentary are available on Prime Video.
Gilbert Saldivar plays one of Lopez’s love interests in the musical, and he recently shared his exclusive experience of working with Lopez with JMG.
