Poitín: Come for the Cocktails,
Stay for the Experience

If cool cocktails, gulf oysters and pork ribs confit sound tempting, then let me introduce to you Poitín (pronounced puut-cheen), a new Heights-area restaurant and bar.

Located in the heart of Washington Avenue’s Arts District, Poitín — named after an old Irish spirit— was brought to life by Ian Tucker, who also owns The Exchequer in Dublin, Ireland. The Exchequer is renowned for its award-winning cocktail experience. Why is that so great for Poitín? The mixologist who is responsible for The Exchequer’s success flew down to Poitín to recreate that same world-class experience.

On top of having a memorable bar, the mastermind behind their meals is just as promising. Whether you’re craving something upscale like a Chef’s Cut TX Wagyu or their Seasonal Ban Chan, Poitín has you covered.

And if you have a sweet tooth and you like desserts, their 24 Karrot Cake may be the one. The cake is made with carrot, pineapple, meringue, blackberry and brown butter. Yep, that sounds pretty good.

If you’re looking for an experience that is top-notch and offers the best of Houston’s skyline, Poitín is a must-go on your foodie list.
