At the beginning of the New Year, many of us are looking forward to the start of something new. That could be new travel plans to Miami for the spring, a fresh new jacket for Houston’s on-again, off-again winter weather, or just a local hotspot that’s worth your time and money.

In mid-January the opulent Rose Gold Cocktail Den opened its doors as an upscale cocktail lounge with a definitive look that leaves quite an impression. Rose Gold isn’t only the name of the lounge, but it’s the venue’s signature color. And as a color that’s wildly known for custom jewelry, rose gold never disappoints.

From the chairs and light fixtures to the bar and cocktail glasses, rose gold is lightly coated throughout the venue, with a modern, royal appeal. The rose gold hue pairs well with elements of green in the main room, which you can see in the posh seating areas and behind the bar.

“We wanted something that speaks for itself, something upscale,” said General Manager Luis Villegas.

They certainly succeeded when it came to creating a luxurious environment, and luckily the cocktail menu wasn’t too far behind. The premise behind the Rose Gold cocktail menu is quality with a quick serve. The venue offers several signature specialties, including the Winter Mule with vodka, lime, rosemary and ginger beer. Then there’s the Prescription Julep with bourbon, Spanish brandy, apricot and mint. All of the drinks were designed to be made in a minute, so guests can spend more time socializing and enjoying themselves instead of playing the waiting game at the bar.

“Some places have up to 100 drinks and it takes five to 10 minutes to make the drink,” Villegas said. “We wanted to do something similar by having an upscale lounge, but not having customers wait long for a cocktail. For us, it has to be easy, it has to be quick and the presentation has to be awesome.”

The venue, of course, offers bottle service, but they do it the “Rose Gold” way. They only serve drinks in real glasses. They don’t serve anything in plastic. Also, your bottle of Rosé or Don comes with a complimentary snack such as chocolate covered strawberries.
