The time has finally come for Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Michael Myers to have their last, bloody showdown in the upcoming film Halloween. Producers John Carpenter and Jason Blum have teamed up to give long-time fans of the Halloween series the sequel that they have been waiting for, including Curtis’ return to an iconic role that only she can play.

Myers has been after Strode since 1978, and she narrowly escapes his killing spree by a hair every time. Though the films from then until now may have tangled up the storyline, Carpenter reveals that this film is a direct sequel to the original Halloween film.

That means that we can expect to see an all-out gory brawl between Curtis and Myers that maintains their history from the very beginning, but producers intend to make this one the scariest of the entire series.

The film is set to release on October 19, 2018. Though the wait may seem long, there’s never enough time to prepare for what Michael Myers has up his sleeve.
