It’s that time of year when temperatures are rising in Houston, which unfortunately means that the cool temperatures of winter are long gone for us. On the bright side, when temperatures rise in the South, that can only mean loads of fun outdoor activities, finger-licking foods and cold drinks. And crawfishlogoyou can find it all at Galveston’s inaugural “Cajun Crawfish Festival,” a lively event that you don’t want to miss. The festival will be taking place June 17-19 during Galveston’s annual Juneteenth celebration and Father’s Day Weekend, which is the perfect opportunity for family bonding time and of course delicious summertime crawfish. Not to mention, kids under the age of 12 and active military get in free!

A cultured festival just wouldn’t be complete without live entertainment, and the Cajun Crawfish Festival will have Zydeco and blues bands for traditional Louisianan and Texan music lovers. In addition to great drinks, seafood and Texas barbeque, there will be vendors available where you can buy cool arts and crafts, and a station for kids of all ages to enjoy activities as well. Early bird tickets are on sale now through April 30 for $25 three-day passes.
