Darryl Stephens Interview for the
Film 'Boy Culture: Generation X'
In the world of male escorts, you need specific attributes to make money and be successful. For starters, an intriguing look to entice new clients. Then there’s charisma. A good escort knows how to talk, flirt, and maneuver in the right situations. And then there’s the body. A male escort must maintain a good physique so his clients will keep returning for more. In the new film Boy Culture: Generation X, a male escort resurrects his career to make some quick cash in this new digital era.
Boy Culture: Generation X is the sequel to Boy Culture, the 2006 LGBTQ+ drama, and the new film reunites us with the unforgettable characters, Andrew (Darryl Stephens) and X (Derek Magyar). The film picks up around a decade after the original film ended, with Andrew and X no longer dating, but the two are still living together. X can’t afford to live on his own, so he starts hustling again.
As X goes back to being a sex worker, he realizes that things are different in the world of escorting, so he gets some help from a new character Chayce (Jason Caceres), who helps him step up his game.
Boy Culture: Generation X premiered on all digital platforms on Nov. 7. I recently spoke with Stephens about reprising his role as Andrew and what people can expect from the new film.
