On Friday, April 28, platinum-selling singer and rapper Coi Leray dropped a single called “New Body” on Uptown/Republic Records. The song is an upbeat, sex-positive anthem about doing what you want with your own body. The catchy track features a familiar sample from the 1963 Leslie Gore track, “It’s My Party,” with Leray reinterpreting the hook to fit the song’s sexually charged themes of female empowerment.

“New Body” is just the most recent in a series of memorable tracks Leray has dropped this year, including “Bops,” “Baby Don’t Hurt Me“ with David Guetta and Anne-Marie, and “Nonsense (Remix)” with Sabrina Carpenter.
