I’ve always enjoyed female rappers with an edge to them like Lil’ Kim. Lil’ Kim’s delivery has always been strong, rough, but always sexy and that’s how I see Cardi B. Many music fans were first introduced to Cardi B on VH1’s Love & Hip-Hop, however, the breakout rap star left reality TV behind in 2016 to focus on her music, and it’s a good thing she did.

Cardi B has been the talk of the summer since the release of her single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).” With its in-your-face lyrics and bold bravado, “Bodak Yellow” is a “don’t f*** with me anthem” that’s being played everywhere. From the the strip club to the barbershop, “Bodak Yellow” is being heard by millions, while making its way up the Billboard charts.

Currently, the song is No 3. on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and the No. 1 rap song in the country. The world got to see Cardi B perform the song for the first time live at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Aug. 27. You can watch the full clip of her performance below.
