As an event venue, Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land has proved that it’s a major player in the Houston area since opening in January 2017.

The 200,000 square-foot venue debuted with a bang when it hosted The Maxim Party on Feb. 4, 2017, when Super Bowl LI took over Houston. The Maxim Party was one of the biggest events during Super Bowl weekend with appearances by DJ Khaled, Travis Scott and many others. Maxim’s award-winning event was well-suited for this star-studded, state-of-the-art facility.

And with its nearly two year run, Smart Financial Centre has offered a diverse lineup of artists from The Culture Club to J Balvin to the upcoming concert featuring 88rising.

88rising is a global media brand, record label and management company that’s most notably making headlines as a musical platform for Asian artists. Their current list of artists include Rich Brian (Indonesian rapper), Higher Brothers (Chinese hip-hop group), Joji (Japanese/Australian singer-songwriter) and Keith Ape (South Korean rapper).

The group has received millions of views on YouTube with their music, both individually and collectively, while becoming a major force in the Asian market. The group kicked off their Asian tour at the end of 2017, with a U.S. tour that followed in February 2018. It was that same month that group member Brian released his album Amen, which went No. 1 worldwide on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart. This was the first time an Asian artist had ever taken the top spot on this chart.
