As the sports world awaits the arrival of Super Bowl LI, Houstonians are preparing for the big game by opening new restaurants, paving the highways and practicing our Southern charm. And when the rumblings of Southern tradition, craft cocktails and patios come up in conversation, you know there’s another new venue worth knowing about.

Belle Station opened in mid-December as a concept bar at 207 Gray St. in Midtown. With a nod to the social life of a Southern Belle, Belle Station offers the neighborhood a traditional spirit with full service bars, an outdoor patio, several TV screens for game watching, and yes, a kitchen with a menu full of high quality food items.

“We are branding the Southern Belle lifestyle for a modern day atmosphere by using old elements of the time period mixed with contemporary influences for our interior design,” said Co-Owner Keelan Baker.

Baker and his partner Chris Sideris have created a new place where young professionals and partygoers alike can eat, mingle and dance seven days a week. With its semi-casual atmosphere, Belle Station stands as a 4,000-square-foot venue with 12 TV screens, 12 beers on tap, craft beers, and a multitude of specialty drinks including the frozen mojito and mint juleps.

Of course, you can’t have a bar without good music. On any given night you’ll find the Innerloop DJs or DJ Miss Berri on the decks playing a variety of hip-hop and dance singles. The venue does have a dance floor, so if the mood hits you, go for it.

A little Southern hospitality goes a long way in Houston, and Belle Station is more than happy to provide it for both residents and visitors alike.
