Sometimes we’re all just a little greedy. When going out to eat at a restaurant, we don’t just want a nice menu; we want the perfect table, the right ambiance, and entrée portions bigger than our appetites.  Of course, the restaurants know this, and they try to elevate our dining experience with great selections, a seasoned waiter, and their secret weapon – the bar.

Black & White restaurant at 1001 Studewood might be on to us. They recently opened their Gray Bar inside of the restaurant with anticipation that a high quality bar was needed for wine aficionados, light-bite nibblers and after-5 workers who want a place to socialize an hour or two before heading home.

The Gray Bar food menu, B&W Bar Bites, is only served during happy hour Monday through Friday from 5-7 p.m., and offers a nice assortment of seafood and Mediterranean delicacies. The menu offers smaller versions of their “customer favorites,” with items such as the Mini Cheese Board, Tostado Trio, Fried Oyster Flight, Tenderloin Tartar and the Patatas Bravas. The Patatas Bravas is a traditional Spanish tapas dish of fried potatoes mixed with the signature Bravas sauce.

Gray Bar offers drink specials throughout the week which includes half off select bottles of wine on “Wine Down Wednesdays.” Guests can also choose from flights of tequila, bourbon and 12-year aged scotches on “Flight Fridays,” all of which are $4.00 off. Gray Bar pretty much offers something for everyone, so get a group and visit them soon.
