Whether he’s on a solo mission to construct the most ambitious dance beat or working on a unique track with guest appearances you can’t miss, Destructo creates music his way and on his terms.

The L.A.-based DJ, producer and founder of HARD Events has ended the summer with a release that’s sure to keep him coasting through the New Year. Destructo’s latest effort, “Catching Plays,” is a special collaboration with Wax Motif and features hip-hop influencer Pusha T, and singer Starrah. The song follows Destructo’s hit-making formula where the BPM of dance music and the sounds of hip-hop intersect.

“Catching Plays” opens with a confident bravado that’s led by Pusha T. With opening lyrics that include “Overdose on a sunset and an open coast,” the Grammy-nominated rapper sets the stage for a nearly four-minute club banger that offers synths and a bassline that are set to ignite dance floors this fall.

Destructo’s production style of blending hip-hop and dance music is a formula that works for “Catching Plays” and for his other songs to come.
“Once I started DJing more, I realized that the music that I play is cool, but it would be better with vocals in it,” Destructo said. “I hooked up with YG when we did ‘Party Up,’ and I was like, ‘I think I got something special here.’ Then I kept working with more talented artists and vocalists, just to see how far we could push it until we got here with ‘Catching Plays’ with Pusha T and Starrah. We’re in the studio now trying to make better songs and better records for the clubs.”

“Catching Plays” is the lead single from Destructo’s upcoming EP Renegade. The EP will include five other tracks, including his most successful single to date, “4Real” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and iLoveMakonnen.

Destructo is also hitting the road this fall with “The Renegade Tour,” which includes a stop at Stereo Live Houston on Sept. 17. This will be Destructo’s second time playing in Houston, but in addition to playing for his fans, he enjoys our sports teams, too.

“When I’m in Houston, I’m definitely down with J.J. Watt,” Destructo said. “That dude’s the man. I love sports, I’m a big sports guy. It’ll be cool to be in Houston again.”
