The heart of downtown is where it’s at right now if you’re coming into town for a few days. There is so much happening here from new restaurants with celebrity chefs, to swanky lounges with up-and-coming mixologists, to parks where you and your dog can hang out and relax.  Downtown Houston is legit, guys.

The Sam, The Sam Houston Hotel, is one of my favorite places to hang out in the area. Raindrop chandeliers, huge red leather chairs, a bar that wraps around for days – this place caters to the modern American and delivers what we want.

The rooms are equipped with luxury linens, magazine-worthy finishes, and business amenities that cater to quick needs for those of us who work non-stop.  The thing that I love about The Sam is that you can get anywhere in downtown in a matter of minutes from its location.  The Wortham for the opera, Jones Hall for the symphony, the Alley for a play, and Hobby for whatever they’re hosting that night!
