Houston has a lot of great summer events and pool party destinations, including the high-energy atmosphere at Clé on Sundays with its poolside DJ sets. And now, the Marriott Marquis has gotten in on the action with the arrival of the Summer Elevated Music Series every Friday and Saturday.

High DiveThe downtown hotel will host live concerts throughout the summer until July 20 at its Texas-shaped pool. The entertainment will feature local artists from 6 – 8 p.m., including Gabe Garcia, Myles Smith, Jesse Stetton and Mario Flores.

While listening and dancing to music, guests can explore seasonal cocktails that can be found at the hotel’s open-air bar and grill, High Dive. These seasonal cocktails can be served by the glass or pitcher and they include: Tito’s Pitcher, Grapefruit Splash, High Tide and Somethin’ Shady. Somethin’ Shady is made with Casamigos Tequila, Triple Sec, lime, simple syrup and desert pear, and the drink comes with a pair of complimentary sunglasses.

The Marriott Marquis is also getting ready for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing in July with what it describes as a “special package and spa offering.”
