“If you look good, you feel good,” is an old saying with some truth behind it. But what if we switched it up a bit and started to say “if you feel good, you look great.” We all know that fashion is about expressing yourself through personal style and emotion. So it should go without saying that if you don’t feel good about yourself, you’ll never be able to reach your full fashionista potential. That would be a tragedy of epic proportions. Ladies, let’s be honest with ourselves and admit that we all like to keep up with the latest trends. It keeps us at our optimal fashionista potential. Luckily, the latest trend is loving your body and embracing every little part of yourself.

You’re not the only one that absolutely abhors those microscopic, flaw capturing fitting room mirrors. Long gone are the days where you’re the only friend that hasn’t picked out any cute clothes in the mall because you’re “too tired” to try anything on. Having body confidence will make those dreadful shopping trips a much more enjoyable experience. As a matter of fact, body confidence can lead to an overall healthy attitude for life in general. Feminism is restoring itself in society and it’s all about women embracing every bit of who they are. The fashion world in general is slowly but surely becoming an industry where women of all sizes and body shapes are embraced. Vocal powerhouse Adele is the perfect example of the body type that doesn’t meet our society’s ridiculous standards of beauty, but still manages to confidently express her personal style. Last year she was seen on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon rocking an absolutely gorgeous Spring ‘16 Valentino midi dress. Fashion, personal style and creativity will always be a one size fits all. Don’t allow a negative body image to stop you from wearing what you love.

Who could ever leave out Khloe Kardashian when discussing body confidence and fashion? She too has been a victim of body shaming in the media and was constantly compared to her sisters, yet she confidently prevailed and is now a fashion icon on and off of the red carpet. It’s clear to see that she’s completely comfortable in her own skin. Often times women look up to celebrities and try and imitate their lives out of admiration but they fail to see past the smoke and mirrors. Here is a helpful hint; celebrities are humans too. No one on this earth is perfect. As a matter of fact, we are actually all perfectly imperfect. Of course, there will be days where you may not feel like the prettiest flower in the garden and that’s absolutely okay. The key is to make sure those days don’t outnumber the days when you feel like a beautiful sunflower.
