Get out your feathered carnival masks and jester hats. Mardi Gras is here. It’s a playful season and an exciting part of the New Year where colorful beads, elaborate masks and rich drinks fuel the streets with celebrations in New Orleans, Galveston and even at must-see, festive venues in Houston.

As a Louisiana-inspired restaurant, Ragin’ Cajun is taking part in the week-long festivities, including the pinnacle part of Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday. This year, Ragin’ Cajun is hosting its Bands, Beads & Bugs event on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at both the original location at 4302 Richmond, as well as the Woodlake Square location at 9600 Westheimer.

Both locations will have a variety of Cajun bites and specialty foods to sample, including king cakes and Louisiana boiled crawfish. And for oyster lovers, there’s a little something for you, too. Oysters on the half shell will be available for only $11 a dozen and char-grilled oysters with the Ragin’ Cajun special seasoning will be available for $19 from 2 – 7 p.m. during happy hour.

And, of course, you can’t have a party without some great music. The original location will have L.T. & The Zydeco Mob band, while the Woodlake Square location is having the Zydeco Dots on hand to entertain with blues, jazz and some Creole flavor. So in addition to your appetite, get ready to dance because the sounds of Zydeco will take over the building.

Bands, Beads & Bugs is happening all day on the Feb. 28 with happy hour drinks and oyster specials from 2 – 7 p.m. So, if you want to end the Mardi Gras season with a bang, then head to Ragin’ Cajun for the ultimate Fat Tuesday party.
