Piatto Ristorante is quite known for its authentic Italian cuisine, special sauces, and a tradition that the Carrabba family so proudly executes with each dish. So it was no surprise when the restaurant partnered with a prestigious winemaker for a spring wine dinner.

Perfectly named “A Evening with Ruffino Wines,” Piatto hosted a four-course dinner with Ruffino Wines on March 28 that sounded too tempting to pass by. With its deep Italian roots and 100-year history, Ruffino has established itself an award-winning premier winemaker that offers mild-to-wild reds, whites and sparkling wines.

An individual glass of Ruffino Prosecco kicked off the night for everyone in attendance at the exclusive dinner. Shortly after the Prosecco was enjoyed, the menu pivoted to the appetizer. Paired with a glass of Ruffino Pinot Grigio, the Bruschetta Carrabba was served with pesto, tomatoes and ricotta salata. The delicious bruschetta was a lite bite that hit the spot, but definitely left you wanting more.

The second course was Nita’s Chopped Salad with homemade Italian sausage, and it was paired with a glass of Ruffino Modus Super Tuscan, which is a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Then there was the main course – Veal Milanese and Lamb Chop. The meats were cooked perfectly and the dish was served with sautéed spinach (another favorite), and rosemary potatoes. The veal and lamb chops were served with a glass of Ruffino ‘Alauda’ Super Tuscan.

Finally, it was time for dessert. A Raspberry Cannoli matched with a glass of Ruffino Sparkling Rosé served as the crowd-pleasing grand finale. The cannoli was sweet and flavorful, which ended a well-prepared and delicious spring wine dinner.
