With the summer season in full swing, bars and restaurants in Houston are doing their best to capture our attention. From new brunches to swanky décor to even late night offerings, there’s something for everyone, including a new debut at The Tasting Room.

As a signature Houston restaurant and wine bar, The Tasting Room is known for its world-class wine selections and menu offerings, making their Uptown Park, CityCentre and Kings Harbor locations a must-visit. So, it wasn’t surprising when the Uptown Park location decided to launch its new “Oysters & Cocktails” program on June 30.

Oysters are always a seafood favorite. For starters, some oysters have different flavors and textures, depending on which region they come from. So, the tastes aren’t always the same. On Uptown Park’s “Oyster & Cocktails” menu, you’ll find a variety of options including: Alpine Bay Oysters (Price Edward Island, Canada), Blue Point Oysters (New York, Connecticut), and La St. Simon Oysters (New Brunswick, Canada).

Of course, the restaurant has paired the oysters with handmade signature cocktails that are perfect for the summer and oyster shucking.  A standout on the cocktail side is the Miette. It’s paired with Martha’s Vineyard Oysters, and it’s made with Aperol, Lillet Blanc, Prodige Sparkling Wine, cane sugar and lemon. Other pairing options include the Vesper Martini, Uberland Riesling, and the Gold Rush.

Oysters are always fun, and cocktails are a bonus when you combine the two. The Tasting Room – Uptown Park seems to be on to something, because this is the perfect pairing for the summer.
