Make Your Home Market-Ready with Spring Cleaning

Spring is officially among us, my friends, and what does that mean? Spring cleaning!  Even if you’re not looking to sell your home, it’s still a nice feeling when it looks like you just moved in. So let’s think outside of the box for a minute and tackle those outdoor tasks we’ve been wanting to do for months but just haven’t yet.

Your front porch: This is the first impression that guests will have of you before they actually come into your house.  Take out the light fixture, empty the dead bugs, and wipe off all of the cobwebs that are hanging around.  You’ll be amazed at how much this little bit will enhance your entryway.

The garage floor: Who thinks to clean the garage floor? Me, that’s who. And once you do it you’ll continue doing it for the rest of your life. It’s amazing how good you feel when you walk into a clean garage.  There are many specialty products available for this gritty job so find your favorite, sprinkle on the ground, and blast away with the water hose.  It’s easier than you think.

The grill: Yeah, you heat it up and brush it down before you use it, but would you really feed your mother off of that grill? Take an extra 10 minutes and use a steaming tool to get a good deep clean on the grill. If you can remove them and wash them separately, even better!

This year’s spring cleaning is outside, and these are just a few things to get you started on your garden, your weeding, your pool, your fence… the list can go on and on. Even if you’re not putting your home on the market, take good care of it and make it shine like new.
