With the world’s eyes on Houston during Super Bowl weekend, the city couldn’t have looked better with special events, red carpets and A-list celebs making their way to the nearest H-Town hotspot. And it was only fitting that one of Washington Avenue’s top venues would be the host home for a slew of hip-hop heavyweights that partied for three consecutive days.

Aura Nightclub kicked off their weekend on Friday, Feb. 3 with Maybach Music Group owner and “Purple Lamborghini” rapper Rick Ross. Ross seemed relaxed with his entourage while exuding his “boss life” persona when either performing on stage, listening to the music or toasting to the crowd. Either way, Mr. Maybach was in the building.

With the Atlanta Falcons scheduled to play in the big game, it only made sense that the ATL had a little representation at Aura, and boy did they. On Saturday, Feb. 4, the Grammy Award-winning hip-hop star and actor T.I. entered the scene with a performance and a lot of skin. The rapper performed shirtless in front of a packed crowd at Aura, which kept the energy flowing until last call.

And in true Aura fashion, the venue closed the weekend with a group that’s topping the music charts. Migos, hip-hop’s latest triple threat who recently hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with their song “Bad and Boujee,” made an appearance and also pulled off an impromptu performance.

Super Bowl weekend always brings out the stars, and Super Bowl LI was no different with Aura showcasing the best.
