The fall season ushers in so many changes that it can be a little uneasy for some, as the days of eating melting ice cream, or having a cocktail by the pool are long gone. However, autumn can hold its own by offering big-ticket items with the holidays (hello, Halloween), fashion and food.

Perfect StormSquash, pears and mushrooms are just a few of the fruits and veggies that are ripe for harvesting in the fall, giving restaurants the right ingredients when designing their next big menu.

Seasons 52, a restaurant and grill known for its culinary prowess and global wines, recently revealed its Harvest menu. From now until Nov. 21, the Seasons 52 Harvest menu will offer five fixed-priced entrées that include:

  • Wood-Grilled Filet Mignonserved with roasted mushrooms, Yukon mash, Caulilini and a red wine sauce
  • Mediterranean-Style Australian Lamb Shank – served with sautéed green beans and Yukon mash
  • Short Rib Lasagna – round lasagna, topped with tender short rib, mozzarella and filled with grass-fed Bolognese
  • Venison Chop – features venison ragout, Caulilini and sweet potato mash
  • Cedar Plank-Roasted Salmonserved with crushed potatoes, Caulilini, grilled lemon and a dill-mustard sauce

I recently visited the restaurant to not only try the Harvest menu, but a few other buzz-worthy items that caught my attention. For starters, I tried the Garlic Chicken Flatbread as well as the Lump Crab and Shrimp Stuffed Mushrooms. These two items aren’t on the Harvest menu, but after my waiter Mike so vividly described how incredible these dishes were, I had to try them.

Now, I’ve always been a fan of mushrooms, so I knew exactly what would happen once the Lump Crab and Shrimp Stuffed Mushrooms would hit the table – gone. The layers of crab and shrimp, along with the panko crust, made these edible bites good enough for a full meal. However, I could only have a couple, because the Seasons 52 experience was just getting started.

The Garlic Chicken Flatbread was made with arugula, roasted peppers, mozzarella and balsamic Cipollini onions. The mixture of ingredients created a nice balance, making this Italian-inspired starter a nice pit-stop before the heartiness of the Harvest menu.

The Wood-Grilled Filet Mignon was my entrée choice from the Harvest menu. Now, I am a big steak guy, and I like my steak cooked medium to medium-well, with a little pepper here and no steak sauce (that’s cheating). The Wood-Grilled Filet Mignon exuded confidence with its perfectly cut shape, aroma and flavor, and it melted in my mouth, bite after bite. The filet is served with roasted mushrooms, Yukon mash and Caulilini, a well-cooked veggie that’s hit the scene in recent years.

The full Harvest menu includes a choice between soup or salad, an entrée and dessert for $29.95. With all of the delicious season-inspired menu items to choose from, this is one dinner destination you’ll have to visit more than once. But do it now while you can because this Harvest menu is only available for a limited time.
