A kid who was once a bullied geek is a geek no more. Bob Stone, played by Dwayne Johnson, is no longer the chubby helpless kid he was in high school. He returns to his hometown to reunite with his only friend, Calvin Joyner (Kevin Hart), but not for what you’d think.

Central Intelligence / JMG MagazineBob is completely unrecognizable as a 6-foot-something muscle man who reveals that he is now a deadly CIA agent. Calvin, who is now an accountant, is tasked to join forces with Bob to save the world. It is before Calvin knows what he is getting himself into that he realizes it is too late. Espionage and major shoot-outs ensue once the men join forces to try to figure out who is trying to sell military secrets, as they attempt to save the world.

Johnson and Hart are joined by Amy Ryan and Timothy John Smith as agents Pamela Harris and Nick Cooper, who make appearances along the way. They are joined by Aaron Paul, Danielle Nicolet, Jason Bateman, Megan Park and Thomas Kretschmann. The filmed was directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, who is known for his previous work on Dodgeball and We’re The Millers.

This movie is the perfect combination of action and comedy with two men who play their roles well. You’ll be along for the ride on this one as you jump for the joy of revenge and cringe in dismay. Johnson and Hart have cooked up a great summer movie, and the two had great chemistry on screen together.

“You can’t teach funny,” Hart said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “You either have it, or you don’t. And what DJ has is that ‘I don’t give a s- attitude.’ You have to have a fearless attitude to go in and take comedy risks when you don’t do comedy. It’s about confidence. My job was to get him to an area where he could not only be funny, but be safe. I had to have his back.”

Central Intelligence hits theaters on June 17.
