A lot of us are thanking the stars that 2016 is finally over and 2017 has officially arrived. We’ve got high hopes for the future and we don’t even want to begin to dwell in the past. More often than not, the start of the New Year brings the start of new rules and restrictions that we set ourselves to. Everyone loves to come up with a list of what’s cool and what’s not cool; specifically, the fashion industry. What trends should stay? Which trends should we leave in 2016? We all want to stay on point and look great from head to toe because when you look good you feel good. It’s as simple as that.

So, will we stick with the Kanye West and Kim Kardashian inspired oversized ripped shirts and head to toe camel ensembles? Perhaps. Or maybe we’ll leave behind the ‘athleisure’ trend and swap it out for something more grown up and elegant? That’s absolutely no shade coming from this end. I’m a proud owner of Blue Ivy apparel.

I guess what I’m trying to say is instead of focusing so much on what everyone else wants us to look like this year, how about we march to the beat of our own drums. That is truly how creativity flourishes within the fashion industry. It’s not about being a copycat. It’s about remaining fearless in your personal style. This year in 2017, let’s all make creativity, fearlessness, and happiness the ultimate trend and surely everything else will fall into place.
