The Big 3: Aura Nightclub Celebrates Its Third Anniversary
When DJ Khaled released his No. 1 single “Shining” earlier this year with Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the New Orleans-born hip-hop artist wanted to share his respect for success with the masses with lyrics and guest appearances that would last a lifetime. The song definitely expresses how good it feels to be on top and to have those moments of “winning.”
And feel-good moments seem to be a common theme throughout 2017 as Houston’s nightlife scene celebrates one of its prime venues – Aura. Aura will celebrate its three year anniversary on Wednesday, May 17, with an epic, mid-week ultra-event featuring Rick Ross. Yes ladies and gentlemen, “The Boss” rapper will return to Houston for a special performance at Aura after making a high-profile appearance at the venue earlier this year during the Super Bowl.
As a high-energy dance club, Aura has seen its fair share of celebrity guests, DJs and performances. The club has welcomed a slew of artists that have performed at the venue including: TI, Migos, Slim Thug and DMX. Some of their resident and guest DJs over the years have included: DJ Ebonix, Vice, Mustard, Bad Boy Bill, Otto Knows, Jermaine Dupri, 12th Planet, Robbie Rivera, Michael Woods and many others.
AJ Ahmed, Edward Hua and Carlos Palomo, the owners of Aura, along with the General Manager Michael Tyler, have done a great job keeping the club fresh with their updated décor and weekly events including Eye Spy Wednesdays, and their most celebrated night – Aura Dynamic Sundays.
Later in the summer you can expect upcoming shows including Nervo on June 29 and Tyga on July 23. But in the meantime, tickets are still available for Rick Ross.
