What do “Lady Justice,” “Pieta” and “The Thinker” all have in common with each other? If you guessed that they are all famous and influential pieces of art, then you’re absolutely right. While art sculpture remains impactful and an important part of history, it often goes unappreciated to say the least. People tend to forget that there are talented sculptors that still exist today and hail right from our own hometown of Houston, Texas! In response to these rarely acknowledged artists, a group of talented artists and directors present Sculpture Month Houston.

Sculpture Month Houston is essentially a month long appreciation of talented artists, specifically sculptors from Texas. From Oct. 15 to Nov. 19, the city will celebrate sculptors and their artistry by hosting a schedule of events that will showcase 45 featured artists and four curated exhibitions. Sculpture Month Houston will be celebrated at over 30 different participating venues including George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Art League Houston, Moody Gallery and a long list of various venues throughout the city. For more information on how you can get involved in this celebratory month and show appreciation for local artists, visit sculpturemonthhouston.com.
