This spring a few of the popular ’70s trends that we enjoyed last autumn will join us again for another go-round. But of course, because fashion is always reinventing itself, there’s bound to be a new trend that sticks out from the bunch. Without a doubt, this year’s most standout trend spotted at the spring 2016 RTW runway shows is sleepwear. Yes, you read that correctly. But we aren’t talking about your average boxy shaped, cotton material pajamas.

Many of the runways looks were inspired by lingerie. For example, lots of chiffon, lace, satin and silk. And of course we can’t forget to mention that lots of skin will be shown. But hey, if you live in Houston it should be warm enough by springtime to roll out of bed and be on your merry way right?

On a serious note, mastering this new fashion trend definitely isn’t for the faint at heart. Fashion lovers will have to exert just as much effort into these luxuriously lazy looks just as much as any other outfit. In fact, there’s absolutely nothing casual about this trend at all. The key to pulling this look off is to pair your lingerie-inspired piece with a bold statement jacket and/or classic standout footwear.
