Houston has become such a diverse and cultural hub, so it comes as no surprise that the variety of culinary fare has superseded many other major cities in the United States. Whether you have a taste for a premium steak, fresh seafood, or even Pho, the Bayou City has your cravings covered. As of lately, Mediterranean cuisine is one of the top trending foods right now and thankfully Houston has no shortage of this delicious cuisine.

If you’re in the Galleria area, don’t hesitate to visit Sult’an Pepper. This Mediterranean restaurant has everything you could wish for in a meal and it’s open now in The Galleria. Fresh seafood, curried chicken and grilled beef kabobs are just a few of the tasty items on the menu, but arguably the most popular item on Sult’an Pepper’s menu is the fresh hummus. Made from scratch and offered in two different flavors of regular and spicy, the hummus will probably make it hard for you to enjoy store bought hummus again.

Another restaurant that must be mentioned is The Halal Guys. After serving gyros, lamb, chicken, rice, and pita bread on the streets of NYC for 25 years, they recently have expanded and opened two locations in Houston with a plan to open an additional third location right here in H- Town. It would literally be a crime not to mention this famous food paradise. It’s highly suggested that you try the chicken over rice platter served with pita bread, yogurt sauce and blazing hot red sauce. But, beware! Less is more when it comes to The Halal Guys hot sauce, but if you think you can handle more than a drop, be our guest.
