Austin has always carried a reputation for having hip, trendy bars that the locals frequent on a weekly basis. And now that same vibe has come to Houston as the Austin-based HandleBar opened a new location on Washington Avenue on Dec. 28. The new venue is located at 5219 Washington Ave., a space previously occupied by The Glass House and Roosevelt.

According to their Facebook page, HandleBar is a low-key neighborhood bar that offers craft cocktails and a “rotating beer selection.” Not to mention that the venue seems to be mustache friendly, with a ‘stache here and there throughout the venue, and a picture of Burt Reynolds’ 1972 nude centerfold from Cosmopolitan magazine also on their Facebook page.

The venue is open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and from noon to 2 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. For more information on HandleBar Houston, visit handlebarhouston.com.
