There’s been a trend arising in fashion over the years and it’s certainly changing the game. It’s not blatantly noticeable, so you may not have gotten hip to it just yet. It’s one of the sneakiest trends in my opinion so far. Am I the only one who’s been having a hard time differentiating between the men and women section in clothing retailers now? It seems to me that clothing today can easily be combined for both genders all the way from sweaters and vests to pants and even dresses sometimes.

You may have also noticed a few of your favorite celebrities doing away with gender roles in their wardrobes. Jaden Smith is fairly new on the scene, but he’s no stranger to drawing outside of the lines with his unique sense of personal style. He’s the new face of the 2016 Spring Louis Vuitton women’s wear collection and I must say he absolutely rocks it!

Another celebrity rocking the fashion world without sticking to gender roles is Ruby Rose. She took the year of 2015 by storm with her captivating beauty and daring style. The “Orange Is the New Black” star wears her style incredibly well due to her overall androgynous look.

I personally love shopping in the men’s section in certain retailers. I find that the colors are richer and often times the quality of the fabric is way better than the women’s section. I’m a sucker for boyfriend-styled jeans and men’s sweaters. Fashion should encourage creativity and individual style, so it comes as no surprise to me that many designers are doing away with gender roles in their collections as a whole. What are your thoughts on gender roles in fashion? Do you enjoy wearing clothes that would be considered against your gender rules? Why or why not?
