It’s Super Bowl time and that means that you need somewhere to stay!  You better book your rooms quick because all of the hotels are filling up like you wouldn’t believe.  A few of my favorites are Hotel Granduca, Hotel Zaza, Hotel Icon, and the new Marriott Marquis.  Let me tell you a bit about them so we can see which one will be the right fit for you.

Hotel Granduca

A few blocks from the Galleria, Hotel Granduca is a boutique style hotel that makes guests feel like they’re staying in the lap of luxury, because they truly are, with immediate access to local restaurants, lounges and shopping.

The rooms in this hotel offer features like kitchens, double-paned windows, chandeliers and fresh flowers to help you relax and enjoy the moment. Rooms are also equipped with DVD players to entertain the children, and housekeeping service which comes twice daily. One thing that I love about this hotel is that it is pet-friendly. Treats and bowls are provided during the stay as well as ample green space for the pets to roam on.

Hotel ZaZa

Featured in Harper’s Bazzaar in Escape: Houston and recognized as a Houston hotspot in Forbes Travel Guide, Hotel Zaza is truly a destination. Zaza features opulently furnished concept suites such as “West Indies Room” and “Casa Blanca,” as well as the ultimate luxurious Magnificent Seven Suites.

Amenities include a fitness center, pool and ZaSpa that offers a wide range of special treatments. The hotel’s location in the heart of a vibrant district is suitable for travelers in business or leisure. Zaza’s unique atmosphere makes this Houston hotel a desirable escape.

Hotel Icon

One downtown hotel that I’ve always been particularly impressed with is Hotel Icon located at 220 Main St. Their staple is bringing ‘contemporary luxury’ to the heart of the city. You’ll find that the lobby bar is situated in an octagon surrounded by stools backed with cowhide, along with low-top cocktail tables accompanied by fire-engine-red leather T-chairs.

Features of the individual rooms include walls of mirrors, floor to ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light, intricate millworks & paneling, as well as marble accents in the bathrooms to create a chic yet elegant space.

Marriott Marquis Houston

Perhaps the biggest buzz in the hotel world at the moment is the Marriott Marquis in downtown Houston. This newly built project features 1,000 guest rooms, over 100,000 square feet of meeting space, Houston’s largest ballroom, and a Texas-shaped lazy river plus infinity pool.

The hotel offers six food and beverage options giving guests a wide variety of choices and culinary fare, including the Walker Street Kitchen, Biggio’s, Xochi, High Dive, Cueva, and Texas T. This is certainly the ‘see and be seen’ place!
