Hedwig and the Angry Inch is widely considered to be the first true “rock musical,” a harrowed and revered piece of contemporary theater that has boasted and spawned Hollywood stars like Neil Patrick Harris and Taye Diggs in its star role.

In November, the play makes its way back to Houston at Rich’s Nightclub. Under the direction of Chris Patton, and with the award-winning Blake Jackson reprising his role as Hedwig, playgoers can expect a vibrant and lively atmosphere as Obsidian partners with Rich’s to bring an ethereal essence to the environment.

“What I really love about this show, what energizes me about it and makes me excited to work on it, is that at its core, it’s about individuation, or self-actualization,” revealed Patton. “Yes, it’s about fourth-wall smashing comedy and tragedy. And yes, it’s about sexuality, gender, and love. But, mainly, it’s about figuring out who you are as a person, and I think that’s one of the most exciting things for an audience to watch a lead character do.”
