Oscar de la Renta is a world-renowned fashion designer whose clothing has graced the shoulders of so many icons, including Jacqueline Kennedy, Beyoncé, Michelle Obama and Sarah Jessica Parker, just to name a few. His work has inspired and influenced so many people, and now we get to see why in an exhibition that is dedicated to celebrating his life and career.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston debuted The Glamour & Romance of Oscar de la Renta on Oct. 8, and the last day to see it is on Jan. 28. This exhibition showcases nearly 70 ensembles obtained from de la Renta’s personal archives. He specialized in women’s clothing and knew exactly how to capture the grace and elegance that a woman embodies on any occasion.

The exhibit is presented in themes that represent every region that had an impact on de la Renta’s life, including Spain, which is where he launched his career. The remaining themes embody Russia, China, and Japan.

Harper’s BAZAAR has said that this exhibit will take your breath away. If you’ve ever seen a piece of de la Renta’s work, you would agree. If you haven’t, then here’s your chance.

Visit www.mfah.org for details on this exhibit, including admission information. It is a historic experience and the chance of a lifetime.
