you’re looking for a fun-filled flick with a valuable message, look no further than Our Family Wedding. The
film brims over with a variety of talents including America Ferrera, Forest Whitaker, Carlos Mencia, Lance Gross and Regina
King. A modern-day Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner with a few more food fights and loose animals, Our Family
Wedding does cultural collision as a comedy.
Ferrera
and Gross play Lucia Ramirez and Marcus Boyd, the young couple fresh out of college who want to get married. Their Mexican
and African American families, however, refuse to take the news without a fight. Lucia’s boisterous dad, played by Mencia,
and Marcus’s willful father, played by Whitaker, get at each other’s throats even before they meet as future in-laws.
